When it comes to the connotation of this day, you can also interpret it as bachelor day. Originally, single male students invented activities to get a girlfriend, this was then called Singels Day. Over years, Singles Day grew into a national phenomenon that was celebrated throughout the country.

The date, November 11 (11/11), was chosen because the number “1” resembles a “bare stick” (Chinese: 光棍; pinyin: guānggùn), which is a Chinese Internet slang for a single man who doesn’t marry and thus can’t add ‘branches’ to the family tree. The holiday has ironically also become a popular date to celebrate relationships (as to “pair up singles”), some couples chose to get married in this day. (Wikipedia)

Nowadays, this nonofficial holiday originated from China has spread out worldwide. During that day in China, you will find great discounts and promotions in online shops which makes this day the largest online shopping day of the year. Other than that, offline activities are ubiquitous , such as parties, incredible offers at stores and so on. Here in the Netherlands, you may notice various discounts of shops have kicked off! Once the order is confirmed, you will get a digital “love card” from our customer service.
Within 30 days after the restaurants reopens, take you girl/boy friend with you to our restaurant to enjoy a romantic hotpot between 12:30-17:00 Monday to Friday with the same value as the order of Singles’ Day ( 11^th of November). Literally to enjoy a hotpot for free!
